UNDERSTANDING YOUR BENCHMARKS: WHAT IS TEXT-BASED WRITING?

Use relevant evidence from various sources to support a claim or controlling idea.
Produce clear and coherent writing with development, organization, and style appropriate to task, purpose, and audience.
Ask yourself: Did I use relevant quotes that strengthen my claim? Did I paraphrase? Did I elaborate and explain exactly why that quote is relevant? Did I use transitions?
ACADEMIC AND BEHAVIORAL EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL CLASSES

Students MUST be in uniform and wear their KROP ID to be admitted to class.

If you are late, you MUST bring a pass.

Cheating of any kind is not tolerated.
-
Students are expected to bring their tablet or laptop to class everyday along with their chargers.

Phones are only allowed in the case of a class activity using phones. Otherwise, they are to kept silent and put away.
-
Students are responsible for completing their class assignments, homework and assessments on time regardless of participation in extra curricular activities. Academics are our priority.
-
Disruptive behavior will be dealt with according to the student handbook on the school website.
Hi, I'm Ms. Padron. Now in my 4th year at Krop, I've gotten the chance to teach English 1, 2, Creative Writing and English 3 & 4 in our Adult Ed program. I also sponsor the Creative Writing Club and am the adviser for Ink Magazine. A self-professed nerd and serious bibliophile, everything in my day revolves around books, reading and writing.
